Hoyas Battle Back in Strong Second Half, but Fall to Providence, 75-72

Providence, R.I. - Georgetown fell behind by 26 points in the first half and rallied to pull within one point in the final minute of the second half, but fell short, 75-72, at the Dunkin’ Donuts Center Saturday afternoon. Georgetown falls to 14-12 overall and 7-6 in the BIG EAST Conference, while Providence improves to 19-7 and 7-6 in league play. Freshman forward Marcus Derrickson (Bowie, Md./Brewster Academy [N.H.]) scored 18 points, had nine rebounds and five assists to lead the Hoyas, while sophomore guard L.J. Peak (Gaffney, S.C./Gaffney) finished with 13 points, four rebounds, two assists and two steals.
