WASHINGTON - The Georgetown University’s men’s basketball team will play at Illinois on Tuesday, November 13 as part of the fourth annual Gavitt Tipoff Games, as announced by the BIG EAST and Big Ten Conferences today. Game times will be announced at a later date and games will be televised on FS1 or BTN. This will be the sixth time the Hoyas and Fighting Illini meet. The two teams last met in Champaign, Illinois in the 2005-06 season, with Illinois winning 58-48. Illinois leads the series 4-1.
The Gavitt Tipoff Games is a unique early-season series played between the two conferences and named in honor of Hall of Famer Dave Gavitt, founder of the BIG EAST Conference and basketball visionary.
