Georgetown Selected to Finish Second in BIG EAST Preseason Poll

NEW YORK - The Georgetown University men’s basketball team was picked to finish in second place in the BIG EAST as the Preseason Coaches’ poll was announced on Wednesday morning at Madison Square Garden, the site of the league’s annual media day.

Villanova received nine first place votes (coaches cannot vote for their own team) and had 81 points, while the Hoyas were second with one first place vote and 70 points. Butler was picked third (67), followed by Xavier (55), Providence (45), Marquette (44), Seton Hall (27), DePaul (25), Creighton (23) and St. John’s (13).
