Georgetown was historically sloppy in falling to Oklahoma State in the Third Place Game of the Maui Invitational on Thanksgiving Eve. The loss brings the Hoyas record to 2-4 which is the worst mark for a Georgetown team after six games since 1971.
The struggles on the court aren’t new as last season ended in disappointing fashion with Georgetown missing the postseason for the first time since 2004.
Going back to last season, John Thompson III’s Hoyas have gone just 4-14 over their last 18 games. This is the second worst 18 game stretch in the modern era of Georgetown hoops which we will say started when John Thompson Jr took over in 1972.
