Despite a miserable shooting night from its top scorer Trevon Bluiett, No. 4 Xavier broke off a 12-0 run midway through the second half to separate itself from Georgetown and win 89-77 Wednesday at Capital One Arena.
The Hoyas (15-11, 5-10 Big East) fell short of winning their third straight game and have just three regular season dates remaining. Freshman Jamorko Pickett led Georgetown with 21 points on 6-for-7 shooting behind the arc, and Jessie Govan added 15 points and 11 rebounds.
With the win, Xavier (25-4, 13-3 Big East) remains in good position to be considered for a No.
