WASHINGTON - The Georgetown University football team partnered with Be The Match to host its first annual “Get In The Game, Save A Life" (GITG) bone marrow registry drive on Wednesday. In just five hours, the Hoyas blew past their goal, registering 263 potential donors, many of which were Georgetown student-athletes and coaches, to the national bone marrow registry.
“The entire Georgetown community truly stepped up on Wednesday,” Georgetown Defensive Coordinator Kevin Doherty said. “Quite honestly, I was amazed at the effort and enthusiasm that our players and staff put into the day and at the same time so grateful for the support all our athletic coaches, administrators and athletes demonstrated.
