A name that has surfaced on a random message board today that might be on the radar for the Georgetown coaching search is current St. Mary’s College of California coach Randy Bennett.

Bennett has been the coach of the Gaels for the last 15 years and has a 364-157 record, just under a 70% winning percentage. In the WAC along with longtime rival Gonzaga, the Gaels have made the NCAA Tournament under Bennett’s guidance six times, with its best finish being in the Sweet Sixteen in 2009-10. The Gaels were a 7 seed in this year’s Tournament and defeated VCU in the 1st round before falling to 2 seed Arizona.
