WASHINGTON - The Georgetown University football team had three student-athletes named to the Academic All-Patriot League Team on Wednesday. Senior defensive end Phil Novacki (Great Falls, Va./Langley) earned his second selection on the academic team while junior wide receiver Jim McLaughlin (Fairfax, Va./WT Woodson) and junior defensive back Jelani Williamson (Silver Spring, Md./Good Counsel) were both selected for the first time.
The 11-member all-academic team was selected by a vote of the league’s sports information directors who could not cast a vote for their own student-athletes. To be eligible, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.
