NEWARK, Del. - The Georgetown University women's basketball team (6-2) slowed a fourth-quarter comeback to pick up the 54-46 victory at the University of Delaware (5-3) at the Bob Carpenter Center on Sunday. The contest marked GU's final game away from home as part of a seven-game road swing, and Georgetown’s fifth-consecutive victory.
“We gutted it out. Sometimes it’s not pretty, but our team doesn’t quit and we gutted it out and people made plays down the stretch,” said Georgetown Head Coach Natasha Adair. “Against a very good Delaware team, it’s tough to play in this arena.
