WASHINGTON – Georgetown trailed by only two points at the break, but No. 8/7 Xavier used a 13-0 run to start the second half and break open a close game as the Hoyas lost to the Musketeers, 88-70, on Saturday in front of 10,652 fans at Verizon Center.
Georgetown falls to 14-14 overall and 7-8 in the BIG EAST, while Xavier improves to 24-3 overall and 12-3 in the conference.
Senior guard D’Vauntes Smith-Rivera (Indianapolis, Ind./North Central/Oak Hill) scored 18 points, handed out seven assists and had four rebounds to lead the Hoyas, while sophomore forward Isaac Copeland (Raleigh, N.
