WASHINGTON - The Georgetown University women's basketball team (8-4, 0-2 BIG EAST) fell, 84-77, to the Marquette University Golden Eagles (11-2, 2-0 BIG EAST) on Friday afternoon at McDonough Arena in a BIG EAST Conference matchup.
“I thought our kids competed, but we’re trying to get that next tier of extra effort,” said Georgetown Head Coach Natasha Adair. “We just played two of the top teams in the league and it gives us a measuring stick for where we are. We’re not happy with moral victories, we prepared to win today. We have to have a short memory because we have to play Villanova on Wednesday so we’ll get back in the gym and get ready.
