WASHINGTON - The Georgetown University women's basketball team (17-10, 9-8 BIG EAST) fell, 80-70, to the Marquette University Golden Eagles (21-7, 12-5 BIG EAST) at the Al McGuire Center. The Hoyas could not overcome late 3-pointers to drop the first contest in a two-game road trip to close out BIG EAST Conference play.
“We were missing those extra-effort plays,” said Georgetown Head Coach Natasha Adair. “We played well in spurts, but didn’t put it together for a full game and you can’t do that against one of the top teams in the league like Marquette.
