WASHINGTON - Syracuse tied the game with a minute remaining in regulation, and proceeded to outscore the Georgetown men’s basketball team, 17-10, in overtime to hand the Hoyas their first loss of the season, 86-79, on Saturday afternoon in front of 15,418 fans at Capital One Arena. With the loss, Georgetown slips to 8-1 while the Orange improve to 9-1 on the year.
“It’s a game that we should’ve won,” Georgetown Head Coach Patrick Ewing said. “When you’re up double figures, especially down the stretch, you can’t make the mistakes that we made.”
