PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Georgetown University women's basketball team (9-6, 1-4 BIG EAST) closed out its three-game road swing with a 71-39 win over the Providence College Friars (9-8, 1-5 BIG EAST) on Tuesday evening at Alumni Hall in a BIG EAST Conference matchup. It marked GU’s first league win of the season, and the defense’s lowest points allowed this season.
“It was a great team win tonight,” said Georgetown Head Coach Natasha Adair. “We had four players in double figures, but I don’t want to single those four out because it was a team win and we did it with our defense.
