Georgetown Downs Loyola, 72-54

WASHINGTON - The Georgetown University women’s basketball team came back in the second quarter to cruise to a 72-54 victory over the Loyola University (Md.) Greyhounds Thursday evening at Reitz Arena. With the victory, the Hoyas improved to 2-0 on the young season.

“This team has a lot of character and they know when they are not playing well,” said Georgetown Head Coach James Howard. “I think they came out and made the necessary adjustments in that third quarter. It was good to see Dionna White get started, and then Mikayla Venson and Cything Petke picking up.
