A major piece to the Hoyas’ success this past season is leaving the program.
Sophomore center Qudus Wahab entered the transfer portal, Georgetown announced Thursday. The 21-year-old started 25 of 26 games during the 2020-21 season, averaging 12.7 points and 8.2 rebounds per game.
Wahab’s transfer was unexpected and the latest departure for the Hoyas under coach Patrick Ewing.
“Q was an important piece of our success this year and he needs to do what he feels is best for him,” Ewing said in a statement. “After an exciting postseason, we are ready to focus on the 2021-22 season.
