Fourth-Quarter Comeback Propels Hoyas to 72-57 Victory

WASHINGTON - The Georgetown University women’s basketball team (1-0) outscored the George Washington University Colonials (0-1), 32-9, in the fourth quarter to open the 2016-17 season with a 72-57 victory on Friday evening at McDonough Arena. Senior guard Faith Woodard (Brandon, Fla./Freedom) and junior guard Dorothy Adomako (Midlothian, Va./Cosby) both posted double-doubles to help the Hoyas win their ninth-consecutive season opener. “We had a slow start to the game, but the 40 minutes is what I’m most proud of because we didn’t quit,” said Georgetown Head Coach Natasha Adair. “Our players gutted it out, and it’s what we talk about daily.
