The Minnesota Lynx won the 2017 WNBA Finals on Wednesday night, defeating the Los Angeles Sparks 85-76 in the deciding Game 5. The championship was the 4th in 7 years for the Lynx as they exacted their revenge on the Sparks after LA won last year’s Finals on a last second shot in Game 5.
The win tied the Lynx with the Houston Comets for the most titles in WNBA history, but it also gave former Hoya Rebekkah Brunson a record all to herself. With the win, Brunson became the first woman to win 5 WNBA titles.
