WASHINGTON - Georgetown University women's basketball freshman guard Dionna White (Baltimore, Md./Milford Mill) was named the BIG EAST Freshman of the Week on Monday after the Hoyas (8-5, 1-2 BIG EAST) opened conference play with three BIG EAST games last week.
In her first three BIG EAST contests, White was consistently productive by averaging a Georgetown-best 16.7 points per game to go along with 6.0 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 2.0 steals. In the Hoyas’ league opener at Xavier on Tuesday, the rookie totaled 11 points and five assists in GU’s narrow setback. Two nights later at Butler, White totaled 17 points, nine rebounds, four steals and two dimes.
