WASHINGTON - Former Georgetown University men’s basketball All-American Allen Iverson was selected to the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame on Monday at a press conference in Texas, the site of the 2016 NCAA Final Four.
This is the third-straight year a former Hoya will be inducted into the Hall Fame, following in the footsteps of Alonzo Mourning (’92) and Dikembe Mutombo (C’91).
Iverson is the fourth former Georgetown standout to play under legendary Hall of Fame Coach John Thompson Jr. to enter the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame, along with Mourning, Mutombo and Patrick Ewing (C’84).
