Jeff Tedford reportedly stepping down as Fresno State head coach due to health

According to multiple media outlets Thursday evening, Fresno State head coach Jeff Tedford is expected to step down following his third season as Bulldogs head coach.

It was announced Thursday by Fresno State Athletics that Tedford would hold a news conference on Friday at 9:15 a.m. to recap the 2019 football season and discuss the state of the program as a whole going forward following a disappointing 4-8 season.

Bruce Feldman of Fox Sports was the first to report the stepping down of Tedford via Twitter. Feldman stated that the resignation is due to health reasons.

According to ESPN, Tedford will be holding a coaching staff meeting on Friday morning and a team meeting afterward, where the players will be informed of the situation.
