In back-to-back weeks, Fresno State sophomore guard Haley Cavinder has been named Mountain West (MW) Conference player of the week.
This is Cavinder’s third time this season winning the award, making her the first MW athlete to collect a trio of player of the week awards since the 2018-2019 season. Last year she was named the MW freshman player of the year.
Over the past two weeks, Cavinder has helped the Bulldogs win four consecutive games, including series sweeps over Nevada and the reigning MW champions, Boise State. Cavinder has averaged 18.5 points during that span and recorded a season-high 30 points against Nevada on Jan.
