The Fresno State men’s basketball team mounted several comebacks Saturday night against the Utah State Aggies, but it wasn’t enough as Utah State beat the Bulldogs 71-59 at the Save Mart Center.
The Aggies were led by reigning Mountain West Player of the Year Sam Merrill and forward Justin Bean. Merill scored 24 points on 8-of-15 shooting from the field, and Bean scored 15 points and grabbed 11 rebounds.
The Bulldogs were led by their seniors — guard Noah Blackwell and forward Nate Grimes. Blackwell scored 13 points on 5-of-11 shooting, and Grimes dropped 11 points and grabbed 10 rebounds -— his 10th double-double of the season.
