In just a matter of days, the FSU baseball team will continue a tradition that started even before Mike Martin took over as head coach – as the Seminoles will take the field for the opening round of the NCAA Tournament for the 42nd straight season when they face off against Florida Atlantic on Friday afternoon in Athens, Georgia.
For Martin – who will be hanging up his No. 11 jersey for good when the 2019 season comes to an end – and his group of Noles, it has been a season of ups and downs that had plenty of people wondering if they had done enough to even make it into the field of 64 teams as late as minutes before their names popped on the screen Monday.
