When the final gun sounded and the clock hit triple zeros inside the famed Rose Bowl stadium on the sixth day of January 2014, the FSU football team had not only won the third national title in program history but also had cemented their place in the conversation as one of the best teams to ever play the sport of college football.
The sheer dominance with which the Seminoles won that third crown – literally blowing out the competition to the point where starters weren’t even playing the second half because the game was decided – put the Noles up on the list with teams who are generally considered the greatest in the sport’s history.
