Florida State football returned to the practice field on Tuesday after scrimmaging for the second time last Saturday — a day dominated by the defense as the offense struggled to find consistency.
Head coach Mike Norvell said that offensive execution was “up and down,” a phrase that found its way back into his verbiage on Tuesday after his team failed to bring the necessary intensity he’s looking for as spring camp approaches its closing week.
“There are times in practice where I just didn’t feel the edge that’s necessary....We’ve got some guys fighting their butts off to maximize the opportunities they have, and then there’s guys that are missing out on opportunities to take advantage of some of the reps that they’re getting,” he said, noting that the defense started off just okay but did respond later in the day.
