TALLAHASSEE — Logan Tyler is not your typical kicker or punter.
Or kickoff specialist, for that matter.
He is different in the sense that he can conceivably play any of the three positions at the college level. And he did much more than that in high school. In a time when football is becoming specialized, Tyler's versatility — he played quarterback, running back, safety and outside linebacker as well as kicker and punter at Nixa (Mo.) High — stands out.
Nicknamed "Slash," his ability to do a little bit of everything makes him a candidate to contribute immediately at Florida State, which needs a new starter at all three special-teams positions.
