Florida State punter Alex Mastromanno earned 1st team AP All-American on Monday, while kicker Ryan Fitzgerald took home 3rd team AP All-American honors. Both were finalists for their position awards but did not win.
According to an FSU spokesperson, Mastromanno led the ACC in yards per punt at 49.3, with 17 boots downed inside the 20. He was nominated for the Ray Gay Award at the end of the year and became the Seminoles’ first-ever 1st-team punter.
Meanwhile, Fitzgerald became the second FSU kicker to be named an All-American, alongside Ricky Aguayo, who won it from 2013 to 2015.
