Florida State continues to make inroads in Louisiana on the recruiting trail; Coach Johnson’s connections down there are paying dividends as high three-star defensive end Byron Turner has committed to Florida State. The 6’4 237lb DE out of St. Augustine High School by way of New Orleans, LA ranks 394th nationally in 247’s Composite Rankings, 27th at his position, and 13th within the state of Louisiana just outside of blue-chip status. Turner chose FSU over offers from Florida, Baylor, Ole Miss, and Mississippi State.

He was recently interviewed by Tomahawk Nation where he was more than excited about Florida State because him and his father grew up big FSU fans; his favorite memory of FSU is the 29-game winning streak from 2012 to 2015.
