After setting the all-time run record to open Super Regional play, the Florida State Seminoles outlasted the UConn Huskies in extra innings in Game 2 to secure the series and return to Omaha in Link Jarrett’s second season.

FSU was the first team to clinch a spot in the College World Series — Virginia followed suit with a series victory over Kansas State with North Carolina also earning a trip after two wins vs. East Carolina.
