Florida State defensive back Stanford Samuels III answered what are becoming recurring questions about poor execution and slow starts. He also discussed the energy on the sidelines and how hard head coach Willie Taggart is emphasizing playing with effort and keeping the bowl streak alive.
Samuels also spoke about second-half adjustments by defensive coordinator Harlon Barnett that led to two interceptions of Notre Dame quarterback Brandon Wimbush. The first interception of Wimbush gave the FSU offense a short field at the Notre Dame 30-yard line and were able to capitalize for the touchdown. While Samuels didn’t get either of those interceptions, he did finish with five total tackles, a pass defensed, and a QB hurry.
