Florida State running back Cam Akers’ stock has risen in 2019, as he’s averaging triple-digit rushing yards per game and often shouldered the offensive load for the Seminoles. His performance has his name climbing both draft boards and the FSU record book— but those ascents will have to take a week off.
According to a release from Florida State, Akers will miss the Seminoles’ home finale against Alabama State on Saturday due to an injury, but he is expected back for FSU’s trip to Gainesville. The same applies to starting tight end Tre McKitty.
