Less than a week after the NFL season concluded, an entirely new professional league is set to kickoff this evening. The Alliance of American Football, an eight-team league partnered with the NFL, debuts tonight with a pair of primetime games.
The Orlando Apollos will host the Atlanta Legends, while the San Diego Fleet will travel to Texas to play the San Antonio Commanders; both games begin at 8 PM, on CBS. The coverage will be regionally based, as are the team rosters. The AAF seeks to allocate players to the geographic areas in which they’re best known. And so it’s far from surprising that, of the eight Seminoles in the Alliance, seven play for Orlando (which is coached by Steve Spurrier— how fun is that?
