TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- Florida State quarterback Sean Maguire will have ankle surgery next week and is expected to miss spring practice.
Maguire fractured his left ankle during the Seminoles' 38-24 loss to Houston in the Peach Bowl on Dec. 31.
The Tallahassee Democrat first reported the fracture and surgery, which were confirmed to The Associated Press by people connected to the team. They provided the information on condition of anonymity due to school medical policy.
Maguire started seven games for the Seminoles (10-3) in the past two years. He played in eight games this season, starting five, and completed 59.
