TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- Florida State Seminoles sophomore defensive end Josh Sweat had surgery to repair a meniscus tear in his left knee and will miss Saturday's game against South Florida.
Coach Jimbo Fisher said Sweat tried practicing this week for the No. 13 Seminoles, but his knee continued to swell after suffering the injury last week. Sweat had surgery Thursday, but Fisher expects it to only be a week or two before Sweat returns.
"It's a little piece of cartilage they just clipped," Fisher said. "It's nothing like [Derwin James' surgery].
