Reports: Kendal Briles expected to be hired as Florida State offensive coordinator

The last couple of Decembers have seen plenty of coaching searches for Florida State. Last year, nearly all of the staff was overhauled following Jimbo Fisher’s departure to Texas A&M. This holiday season, we at Tomahawk Nation aren’t nearly as sleep-starved as we were in 2017, with “just” a vacant offensive coordinator spot to fill, after previous OC Walt Bell bolted to take the head coaching gig at UMass.

And now, it appears we can put that search to bed as well, as multiple reports say Kendal Briles is expected to be hired as the next offensive coordinator at Florida State, heading to Tallahassee from the University of Houston, where he was the Cougars’ associate head coach, offensive coordinator, and quarterbacks coach in 2018.
