Willie Taggart’s coaching staff at Florida State continued to evolve today, as Jim Henry of the Tallahassee Democrat is reporting that the Seminoles have hired Wes McGriff, most recently the defensive coordinator at Ole Miss. He’s expected to coach defensive backs at FSU.
McGriff is a veteran whose coaching career began as a graduate assistant at Savannah State in 1990. From 1991-1992, he moved up to become SSU’s defensive backs coach, then ascending to the DC spot from 1993-1994.
Kentucky State then tapped McGriff to be its assistant head coach from 1995-1999, after which he spent 2000 as the secondary coach at Eastern Kentucky.
