According to a report by Ken Sugiura of the Atlanta Journal Constitution, former Florida State Seminoles football commit Jeff Sims has been named Georgia Tech’s new starting quarterback.
Sims, a former four-star composite recruit out of Jacksonville’s Sandalwood High, was in a four-way battle for the starting nod. He beat out fellow freshmen Jordan Yates and Tucker Gleason, along with last year’s starter, redshirt sophomore James Graham.
Several on the Georgia Tech beat thought that Gleason may have had the inside track for the job in fall camp.
