In a move that should hardly be considered a surprise to anyone, former Florida State special teams coordinator Alonzo Hampton will no longer serve in that capacity moving forward, according to a tweet from Bruce Feldman of Fox Sports.
Hampton had been with FSU head coach Willie Taggart from the jump, serving under him at Western Kentucky as defensive backs coach, at South Florida with DBs and special teams, and then at Oregon as a defensive analyst before accompanying Taggart to Tallahassee. He was the newly-added 10th assistant to the staff and in charge of leading the Seminoles’ recruiting efforts in the state of Georgia, where he coached at Tift County High School in between his stops at WKU and USF.
