The legal battle between Florida State, Clemson, and the Atlantic Coast Conference may soon be winding down. Yahoo’s Ross Dellenger has reported the ACC is exploring a model that would give the conference’s preeminent football powers a greater share of revenue in return for dropping the lawsuits against the conference.
The model outlined in Dellenger’s report is closely modeled after what Florida State AD Michael Alford proposed in February 2023. Schools that produce better television ratings in football would see a larger share of revenue.
Whether Florida State and Clemson would agree to this compromise after openly suing the league is another matter.
