Pitching leads No. 9 FSU baseball to series sweep of No. 25 Virginia Tech

Behind the arms of Wes Mendes and Peyton Prescott, No. 9 Florida State completed a series sweep of the No. 25 Virginia Tech Hokies on Sunday.

The two Seminole pitchers allowed two earned runs and the offense scored in three consecutive innings from the fourth through the sixth to win 4-2 over the Hokies.

After an opening walk to Gage Harrelson started the top of the first, Alex Lodise hit into a double play before Max Williams struck out to end the inning. The Hokies opened the bottom of the frame with two quick singles before a sacrifice fly made the game 1-0.
