Oregon commit Malcolm Lamar will give FSU a shot despite getting a scholarship offer late

Despite not taking a visit or receiving a scholarship from Florida State before Willie Taggart’s arrival, Malcolm Lamar is taking a look at FSU late in his recruiting process.

Lamar, a consensus four-star defensive end, is rated as the No. 268 overall prospect and No. 10 strong-side defensive end in the 2018 recruiting class.

Measuring in at 6’5, 250 pounds, Lamar is a teammate at Seffner (Fla.) Armwood HS of four-star wideout Warren Thompson, who also visited FSU this weekend. While Thompson has since decommitted from Oregon, Lamar remains an Oregon commit even after his official visit in Tallahassee.
