Florida State, after slowly climbing back from a period fans designated as the “Lost Decade,” had finally found itself back on top of the college football world.
2013 saw FSU put together a third-ever undefeated season (and first-ever 14-0 one) in not just successful, but dominant fashion. Florida State’s 723 points were the most ever for a team until LSU exceeded that total by three in 2019 (with one extra game, mind you) and its 39.5-point average margin of victory per game is the highest of all-time with at least 10 games (Army holds overall record with 52 average margin of victory over nine games in 1944).
