The first half was rough for the majority of the Florida State offense, but especially for starting QB Deondre Francois. He ended the 1st half 12-26 for 157 yards and 2 interceptions. Despite the defense intercepting the Eagles twice, the ’Noles were unable to capitalize.
True freshman wide receiver Keyshawn Helton got his first start of the season due to a DJ Matthews injury (wrist) and quickly became one of few bright spots for an anemic offense. On the very first offensive play, he went 25-yards - showing dominance despite his diminutive nature, bulldozing through Boston College defenders.
