TALLAHASSEE — With leading receiver Travis Rudolph sidelined after the first week of Florida State preseason camp, Jimbo Fisher was anxious to see how the other players at the position responded to his absence.
Despite signing a slew of four-star recruits in the last two years, the Seminoles lacked considerable depth last season behind Rudolph, who led the team with 59 receptions for 916 yards and seven touchdowns, and returning seniors Jesus Wilson (58) and Kermit Whitfield (57).
Fisher praised Wilson, Whitfield, junior Ermon Lane and sophomore Auden Tate for shining at times during Tuesday's practice.
