Notes, observations from Florida State football’s second spring scrimmage: Defense dominates, offense has “highs and lows”

Florida State allowed the media to attend its second scrimmage of spring camp and observe the entire two-hour period. The Seminoles ran between 90 and 100 plays, working a variety of situations, including red zone, third down, and overtime. FSU split up playing time amongst everybody, trying to get each player significant work, and specific snap counts do not need to be read into.

While these notes are just a one-off snapshot of four months of off-season preparation, they provided an excellent opportunity to get a feel for the new schemes, coaches, and players on a roster that faced significant churn after last season.
