Florida State added to its 2025 recruiting class with another pickup in the trenches, as three-star offensive lineman Chavez “Sandman” Thompson flipped from FIU to the Seminoles:
The 6’2”, 310 pounder from Melbourne played for Cocoa High (teammates with FSU signee WR Jayvan Boggs) this season after transferring from Eau Gallie.
Thompson holds over 25 offers and was committed to the Oregon Ducks from May 2023 to April 2024, reopening things after visiting the Tennessee Volunteers. He committed to FIU after the recent hiring of Willie Simmons as head coach and Ed Pata as offensive line coach.
