Cook’s season came to an end on Saturday afternoon thanks to a dominant defensive performance by the 49ers. San Francisco’s defensive line dominated the point of attack while their offense controlled the time of possesion, allowing Minnesota to run just 39 plays.
Bottling of Dalvin Cook was obviously a big part of the game plan and the Niners became one of the only teams with an answer to Cook this season, holding him to just 18 yards on 9 carries and 8 yards on 6 receptions.
Despite the disappointing end to the season, NFL Network’s Ian Rappaport reported the Vikings will look to sign Cook to an extension this offseason:
From @NFLGameDay: #Vikings star RB Dalvin Cook is one of the NFL's biggest bargains.
