No. 9 Florida State baseball closes out its three-game series with Florida tonight in Gainesville for a winner-take-all matchup in the swamp. The rivals split the first two meetings, with the Gators defeating FSU soundly in Tallahassee, before the Seminoles responded with an 8-4 walk-off win, courtesy of a grand slam from Alex Lodise. Both teams desperately need a win after a disastrous weekend, but will be pitching with less than a full deck because of banged-up staffs.
Starting with FSU, the Noles returned to the drawing board Sunday night and Monday after getting run out of the yard by Wake Forest on Saturday and Sunday, losing by a combined score of 29-2 in the final two weekend games.
