Max Williams’ walk-off single lifts FSU to 5-4 victory as the Noles take game one versus Wake Forest

In front of the Marching Chiefs, a sold-out crowd, and an ACC rival, Florida State baseball walked off Wake Forest Friday night, 5-4, as Max Williams played hero with a game-winning single, sending Gage Harrelson to the plate. The Seminoles blew an early 4-0 lead as the Demon Deacons cut the advantage to 4-3 in the sixth and tied the game in the seventh, but three combined shutout innings from Joe Charles and Peyton Prescott stymied the WF offense, before the top of the lineup came through in the ninth.

On the mound, Jamie Arnold needed a couple of innings to work his way into the game, but tossed his best outing in his last three starts with five scoreless innings and ten strikeouts.
